UN Conference of the parties (COP) 20 December 1-12th
The United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCC) Conference of the Parties (COP) 20 will be held in Lima, Peru from December 1-12, 2014. The purpose of the conference is to bring together representatives of various nations in an attempt to negotiate a binding agreement to curb greenhouse gas emissions in an effort to reduce the climate change we are currently experiencing.
This is arguably the most important meeting on the planet.
This is the 1st time in 10 years the COP Talks have been hosted in South America and the 1st time the conference has been hosted in a South American city outside of Argentina. As leaders in international education and environmental stewardship within the continent, this presents an incredible opportunity for our community to be actively engaged in creating an innovative, student-led, impactful conference in advance of this major political event.
