Promoting renewable energies (UNEP): Vio Bandstra: My name is Vio Bandstra, I have been a member of the FDR MUN club for a little over a year now. I have attended two local conferences and this will be my first time being a co-chair for a committee and I am really looking forward to reading about the different resolutions that will be created. Sam Woods: My name is Samuel Woods, I have lived in Peru for 5 years. Out of the five years I have a part of the MUN club at Roosevelt for 2; I have attended many local conferences and received many awards from them, I have also been to an international conference in Dublin and earned an award there and gained knowledge through collaboration with other delegates. I believe CLima to be a very special kind of conference; it gives participants the opportunity to share information on a topic in many different formats, MUN, GIN and TEDx talks. I am looking forwards to chairing the committee on renewable energy because I’m sure there is someone else more knowledgeable about the subject than me and I can’t wait to meet them. Jonathon Waddell: Hello delegates, my name is Jonathon Waddell and I am the current Secretary for our MUN club here at Colegio FDR. I have had the opportunity to attend multiple local conferences and also an international conference held in Dublin, Ireland. I am looking forward to chairing the UNEP committee with the hopes of developing practical and innovative solutions to address the rapid growing industry of renewable resources and energy. International waters and responsible environmental governance (UNEP2): Lucia Echecopar: My name is Lucia Echecopar and I am a student in San Silvestre School. I have been part of my school’s Model UN group since 2010, representing a vast number of countries and characters that range from Chad to the United States of America and from Ptolemaios to a South Korean President. I’ve attended two international conferences organized by Harvard for high school students. I am part of the Secretariat at San Silvestre since 2013, and now, in 2014, I am the Secretary-General. Alex Skarstein: Hello, my name is Alex Skarstein and I am currently Co-Secretary General of the MUN club at FDR. I have had the privilege to attend various local conferences as well as ones in Panama City, Panama and Dublin, Ireland. I now have to the opportunity to chair for this CLima conference, and am very eager to see our delegates forming resolutions addressing important environmental issues! Patrick Chang: Hi everyone! I'm Patrick the current Vice-President and former Secretary General of FDR's MUN team, and I'm very excited to be chairing the CLima conference this upcoming October. I've attended numerous local conferences and two international conferences held in Panama City, Panama and Dublin, Ireland. I am very much looking forward to working with all of you. It is a great opportunity and we are going to make the best of it! Illegal mining (Ecology and Environment): Slavia Salinas: Dear delegates, my name is Slavia Salinas and I'm a San Silvestre School student. I've been participating in local school MUN conferences for 4 years now. I'm the Education for Sustainable Development official for this 2014 being able to understand in more detail global environmental issues which as you all know are matter of great importance in the present and for future generations . I'm therefore looking forward to be working with you all in order to reach new solutions and more over transmit these to the rest. Paolo Brescia: I am Paolo Brescia, I have attended FDR for more than 14 years. I started participating in MUN since I started 9th grade and for the past 2 years I have held the position of treasurer. I have attended 3 international conferences, two to SAIMUN (Ireland) and one time to Panama, furthermore I have been awarded the distinguished delegate award in SAIMUN. I am very excited to be part of the CLima 2014 conference. Carbon Footprint and the Implementation of International Carbon Tax (Political): Chris Dryden: Hello future delegates! I'm Chris Dryden and I have been at Colegio Roosevelt for three years now and this is my second semester with Model United Nations and my third year with Global Issues Network. I have previously participated in two GIN conferences in Costa Rica and Quito, and I have participated in a local Model United Nations Conference here in Peru. This will be my first time chairing a committee and I exited for working with you! Roberto Kern: Hello delegates, my name is Roberto Kern and I’m currently a student at Colegio Franklin Delano Roosevelt. With over three years of experience in Models of United Nations and participation in several conferences, I’m privileged to say I’ll be chairing this committee. I’m looking forward to working and guiding achieving responsible solutions to solve the issues the Carbon Footprint and the Implementation of International Carbon Tax Committee addresses! Crisis Committee Fukushima Daiichi Disaster: Maria Jose Lozan: Hi delegates! My name is Maria Jose Lozan and I am a student in San Silvestre School. I have had the opportunity of being part of my school’s Secretariat since 2013, this year being the Under-Secretary-General. By having participated in MUN since 2010, I’ve attended several local conferences as well as participating in two international conferences at Harvard University. This is my third time chairing a committee and I look forward to working with you. Cristobal de Losada: Hello delegates, I'm Cristóbal de Losada and I'm currently a sophomore at Colegio Franklin Delano Roosevelt. I first joined the club when I was in 7th grade and have since then participated in multiple local conferences and two international conferences, one in Panama and one in Dublin, Ireland. I am currently the Co-Secretary General of the Roosevel MUN club along with Alex Skarstein and am very excited to be chairing this committee. Juan Manuel de Osma Hello delegates, I’m Juan Manuel De Osma a 10th grade student from Colegio Franklin Delano Roosevelt. I will be the chairing the Crisis Committee along with two other fellow peers. I have been in MUN for three years now and have been able to participate in various national conferences and one International conference in Dublin, Ireland. I’m looking forward to working with you and debating topics of such importance in the world. I’m therefore very ecstatic for this committee and its high potential, hope to see you all there! |
